My Teaching Methodology (Traditional Way)

  1. Spot and analyse strength and weakness of each student through their test and examination. This is an important part since it determines wehther a student has difficulty in concept understanding part, answering part or both
  2. Regrouping and restructuring student "mind zap"  on different Topics"
  3. Drill particularly at the topic that the student is weak in
  4. Repeat and repeat through doing more and more assessment paper question so the student can memorise it even without ease
too-much-homework

My Comments and Review

This Methodogly is a very traditional way and it will work pretty good to all students. Hard work pays! However it is a lot of workload to student since nowaday there is way too many subjects to be studied. Students will be overloaded and post threat to their own health.

Student need to develop strong affinity with the subject, Chemistry. Student need to understand why there is a need for them to study all the different topics . Knowing that, students will eventually love and appreciate Chemistry.

My Advanced Teaching Methodology

  1. Beside anaylsing student work, causal conversation with student 1-1 do help identify possible barrier that leads difficulty in scoring consistency 
  2. In addition to regrouping and restructuring topic, I will be focusing more on the importance of correlationship between topics
  3. Instead of drilling info and info to student, I will make use reality life based example and interesting way to help student to get the concept subconsciously. Instead of memorising the chemistry concept by hard, students are now able to proof/derive this concept themself without any assistance
  4. Repetition is still important. On top of that, I would focus more on 'key word' answering approach that CIE Exam Board is looking for.
